Art Start uses the creative process to nurture the voices, hearts, and minds of historically marginalized youth. We offer a space for them to imagine, believe, and represent their creative vision for their lives and communities.
Join us for our Opening Reception on October 18 during Gallery Night in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward for a multimedia exhibition featuring the portraits and stories of creative self-determination by young Milwaukee creatives and local professional photographers. In this latest edition of the Art Start Portrait Project, featured artists join a living archive of hundreds of youth and young adults who, as complex people in pursuit of self-discovery, have asked the world to see them as they choose to be seen.
5PM - 9PM at 316 N Milwaukee St., Suite 280.
Since 1991, we’ve held arts workshops with young people coping with challenging circumstances such as homelessness and the juvenile justice system.
Public Exchanges is a public platform for the voices and visions of the Art Start community of youth and families.
Creative Career Development at Art Start connects youth to specific paid practicum opportunities with our various industry partners.
